My dogs, all 3 of them of different breeds and sizes, absolutely LOVE chewing on this. I've even taken the small bits near the end and microwaved them as they recommend and created a cheese puff for them which they also loved eating. Our large dog (lab mix) was the first to break his top molar on this. Having perfect teeth his entire life that I have taken great care of myself, there was nothing wrong with his molar. He broke his carnassial molar chewing on this. I was present when it happened. It was not the wrong size for him. This "yak milk chew" is simply too hard for them. Then the worst happened, it abscessed and the infection was so severe he became very sick. As an elderly dog, surgery was very risky and he was given a 50/50 chance of surviving the surgery, not to mention the cost. Unfortunately our chiweenie had the exact same problem. He is about to undergo dental surgery to remove his carnassial molar. Please, Barkshop, do not take this as a slight against you. My vet said when buying chew toys, smack it off your kneecap. If it hurts, it's too hard to give your dog and can break their teeth. What a great, simple guideline! I'm sure your dogs love them too but it's just not worth it. We use Kong's and similar toys for chewing which Bark Shop can sell instead! If you are on this site you obviously love your dog and don't want them hurt, so please take my story into consideration! Please help keep our dogs safe, Bark Shop!
