My pup Jordi loves this toy because he likes to rip things. He is working on ripping every leg of individually. The toy has pros and cons: it's good because it's durable and it takes him several hours over the course of many days to rip one of the arms off. However, the parts that make the legs crinkly are pieces of plastic within the legs that, once the legs are ripped off, are just out. It's not in Jordi's nature to eat these; he just likes to lick them. However, I think if you have a dog like a golden that eats everything in sight, then maybe this toy is not the best fit for your dog. I guess I just expected the plastic pieces to be a little more protected in a sheath or something because the BarkBox toys are made to be ravaged, lol.
As to the squeaker and crinkly sounds, my dog is ambivalent about both. I think the crinkly legs are kind of fun, and the squeaker is the classic high-pitched which neither Jordi nor I enjoys. But again, these are features I signed up for, so I can't complain about that.
For reference, Jordi is a 37-pound mini bernedoodle, about 11 months old.
