In December of 2019 we bought a Barkbox bed, which came with a stuffed pea toy. Our Catahoula, Hobie, lovingly destroys every single toy he's given, with a toy made out of a firehose staying intact the longest-6 weeks. Thinking the stuffed pea would last 5 minutes max, I tossed it to Hobes for his enjoyment. The pea lasted the day, then a week, a month, TWO months, and so on until we reached a year. And it's lasted despite being played with on an almost daily basis. It shouldn't have lasted. It doesn't seem particularly tough like the firehose toy, it is full of tantalizing stuffing and it has a squeaker which Hobie normally tears out within minutes. So for Christmas I bought him this pea pod, wondering if we would hit the toy jackpot twice. And again, he LOVES these peas, and hasn't ripped a single one up! One even developef a tear in the seam and I can see the stuffing and he hasn't been tempted to rip it apart! I don't get it, and the only explanations I have are that Barkbox employs Hogwarts graduates, or Hobie was Gregor Mendel in another life.
Hobie did chew a corner off the pea pod, so there was some normalcy in his actions.
