a tough cookie that crumbles

This toy is definitely taking my pup a while to understand. She is having fun and is determined to get all the treats out, but at the expense of taking apart the toy. She is able to pull the handles out and although they are a bit big for her to swallow whole, it is still a concern for me. Most of the toys from BB I would say that I can leave my dog to play with and check in with her periodically but this one makes me hover. Not a bad toy, I would just feel better if the handles would not come out.

DogDog Twister Puzzle

Oddly this was the first Bark Box Failure. The reason has nothing to do with the product but everything to do with my extremely well mannered fellow who is also not a foodie. He decided immediately that what was closed to him should remain closed, in spite of my coaxing and offering approval and support. He was curious and willing initially but lost interest in trying to open something that he felt should not be opened, to receive something he cared little about. In Olivers’ defense, he has passed every cognitive test for dogs I could give him and he is always eager to please but this puzzle was beyond his interest level. I’m reluctant to rate this because I think it is a great idea for most dogs....Oliver would have a different view.

Needs Improvement

While Auggie Doggie likes it and figured it out quickly there are a couple of things that need improved. The locks are not good for bigger dogs. He got frustrated since it tipped when he tried to pull them out.

Too flimsy for overly excited dogs

Axel is a 97 lb German Shepherd. He is nearly 7 years old and is a heavy chewer and still very much a puppy. This toy will not last. When he could not easily get to the treats he began to use his teeth. We had to pull the toy away to save it. Next he tried flipping it over. A suction cup on the bottom would've been helpful to keep it immobile. We will try again but I feel it will not endure his excitement.

Toy

Our 2 year old poodle loved this toy, he is very clever and is easily bored but this kept him occupied but he did quickly figure out how it worked. We use it when he needs a challenge and to help him refocus
