Oakley the Acorn

Oh my goodness, I hope you bring Oakley the Acorn back or introduce a 2nd generation as it is one of my pittie’s favorite toys! When playing tug of war he prefers I hold on to Oakley so he can tug on the handle. The funniest thing he does though is use it as, what we’ve dubbed, a “nut chuck.” He will hold it by the handle and swing it it back and forth and if he wants your attention…or wants you to leave, he’ll wack you with it! He’s realized that this gets me to laugh every time so now he’s begun doing it like a party trick, haha!Thankfully Oakley has held up for several months now and I think that’s because Chance has more fun whipping Oakley around versus chewing on him. I sure would love to have a back up though for the day Oakley needs to be retired. He’s a hand and paws down favorite in our house!

Sarge has been a fan of his Oakley the Acorn for several years. Sadly Oakley has had an accident with a lawnmower and his repairs just won’t hold up anymore. Please let us know the second this is available!!

The good news is that one of our dogs (a pitbull mix) LOVES this acorn. The reality end of it is that she is making short work of it. The photo is showing a brand new acorn (we had bought three of these for our three dogs) next to what our pitbull mix did to her new acorn in about 30 minutes. Needless to say, in our case this will be a supervised only toy as we'll be picking up acorn pieces anytime she plays with it. We've found sturdier toys elsewhere, so while this acorn is fine, I guess our super chewer is a super-duper chewer. Glad to hear these have worked so well for others, though!

My dog adores this toy. I have tried every kind of dog toy out there. Most of them, he won’t play with. We got this as a gift and he refused to go anywhere without it until he finally destroyed it. Luckily, I was able to randomly find a replacement walking through a petco. Moon was soooo excited to get a new acorn, he fully abandoned all the “ok” replacement toys I bought for him. I wish I had the foresight to buy like 3 when I could. He destroyed the replacement and has yet to find anything he loves as much as this acorn. We are eagerly awaiting the return of Oakley. This time, I will learn from my mistakes and buy like 5 of these. They last forever but they are beloved so eventually they need to be replaced.

Oakley the Acorn is one of the most controversial toys one has ever owned. This toy has outlived every other toy despite hours of constant gnawing, whipping, and thrashing around my house. My 90lbs bulldog takes no survivors when he comes bulldozing through a room of guests with this thing smacking people, other pets, and furniture. It’s a miracle this thing is still alive and my TV screen has yet to be smashed. No being should live without the “joys” of a Oakley being dropped on your head at 7AM.

Regardless, this toy is tough. And it is immensely loved in our house. However, I think our Oakley is circling the drain and we would *love* a new one. Please come back in stock so we can continue our bet of how much longer our TV screen has to live. Also…. Mac’s gotcha date is in two weeks and I think a cake topped with Oakley would be just AMAZING.
